The Rice University Research Repository holds both undergraduate and graduate research in a digital format. Of particular interest to the radiation effects and events work encapsulated here is former Rice University undergraduate student Sachi Khemka's 2020 collection of interviews housed on the site here. Please note that some interviews are co-stored at the TMC Library's Radiation Effects and Events Collection, found here. Khemka completed ten interviews with individuals involved in radiation effects and events in various ways.

Notable interviews include Dr. Teresa Hayes, M.D., PhD, Randy Wright, Dr. Neal A. Palafox, M.D. M.P.H., and Sara Rozin, among others.

Dr. Hayes's papers are stored in the TMC Radiation Effects and Events Collection, and several photos from the collection are displayed on this website. Dr. Hayes has visited the former Soviet Union several times for the purposes of collaborative cancer research, specifically focusing on radiation effects.

Dr. Palafox worked in the Marshall Islands to provide care to Islanders who were exposed to radiation and currently works to reduce health disparities in Hawai'i and other US Affiliated Pacific Island jurisdictions. He also worked as the PI for a US Congressionally-mandated program to provide medical care to individuals impacted by the Bravo hydrogen bomb detonation in the Marshall Islands.

Mr. Wright participated in the Houston-Semipalatinsk program as the Houston representative. He formerly worked at Houston Methodist, where he worked in a variety of executive positions. He visited Kazakhstan several times as part of his work and participated in an exchange program.

Ms. Sara Rozin has worked in the public and private sector on disease management, disaster preparedness, and health education. Most notably, she worked to facilitate cooperative healthcare partnerships between Methodist Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. In the interview, she describes her own experience immigrating to the US from the former Soviet Union, as well as her own observations of the impact of radiation effects and events on various impacted countries.

The interviews described above are not comprehensive; the research repository contains interviews of other involved individuals as well.
